Product Safety & Usage Information

Product Name: Piston Blade Pen
Model: PBP01

Intended Use:

This product is a dip pen, designed for artistic and calligraphic use with pigment and fountain pen inks.

Safety Warnings:

Choking Hazard
Contains small components (stainless steel spring component). Not suitable for children.

Sharp Tip Warning
The pen nib has a sharp point that may cause injury.
Use with care, avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or skin.

Material Safety

Brass (CuZn37) & Stainless Steel Spring. The pen body is made from CuZn37 brass, an alloy of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn). Brass will naturally develop a patina over time. This is a normal process and does not affect usability. Brass may cause skin reactions in individuals with metal sensitivities or allergies to copper/zinc. The stainless steel spring inside the pen may rust if exposed to prolonged moisture.

Do not expose to open flame or extreme heat.

Usage Notes

For best results only with pigment and fountain pen inks. Clean after each use or risk clogging.

Do not apply excessive force to the nib or spring. Dip the nib of the pen fully into your ink. Press the piston at the end of the pen slowly, ensuring that the hole is completely covered by your thumb/finger. Then, slowly release the piston while continuing to hold your thumb/finger over the hole, drawing ink up into the nib. When you have finished, use the piston to push out unused ink and clean thoroughly after use.

Ink & Cleaning

This pen will work best with pigment and fountain pen inks. Other inks may work but will increase the chance of clogging the nib. Always clean the pen after use to prevent ink clogging. Residual ink left inside the pen can dry and block ink flow. Do not soak the pen for extended periods in harsh solvents or alcohol-based cleaners.

This pen does not have a cap and must be stored safely to avoid ink stains and accidental injury. Handle with care. Store away from soft surfaces and keep in a safe position when not in use.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning Instructions:
Rinse the nib and body with clean water after each use.
Do not leave ink inside the pen for extended periods.
Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth before storing.

Storage Recommendations

Store in a dry, cool place to prevent oxidation.
If patina builds up and you prefer a polished look, clean with a mild brass cleaner. Do not store in humid environments to avoid rusting of the spring.
